Dr. John Piper’s post on The Cost of Knowing & Showing Christ
Guy Kawasaki gave me the idea that one day multi-site church will be done like this.
Joshua shared this quote from Bob Dole on the whole Scott McClellan “tell all” book ordeal. Preach it Bob!
If you Twitter, you’ll love Perry’s take on “What If” Peter and David twittered. Hilarious!
I finished reading Pop Goes the Church by Tim Stevens this week. The book offers a solid challenge to churches that try to avoid culture as opposed to using our culture to reach those who don’t know Jesus. Tony has a good review of the book here.
Todd Rhodes at Monday Morning Insight shared this video of Tom Peters explaining how the principle’s of leadership never change.
Jud Wilhite at the Deadly Viper Blog shared this video (that is now on my side bar). Chuck Norris on Chuck Norris. Love this.
Finally, this news article really takes the cake and shows that people will look for any way possible to take advantage of the Americans with Disabilities Act. Seriously?
The Art of Survival: An Interview with Jerry White found on Guy Kawasaki’s blog, How to Change the World
Of all the articles and stories I read this week this one stuck with me. I am fascinated by how much of what Jerry White has learned through is own personal tragedy translates to all of us and how we go through life.
At some point we are all confronted with a “life crisis”. This crisis will ultimately test our faith… the question for each of us is where, or in who, will our faith be placed? Pay specific attention to question #3. The five steps Mr. White identifies as essential to overcoming a crisis in this world looks a lot like the stages anyone would go through as they accept Christ and begin to follow him to get beyond their past without him.
Mr. White does not speak to his own personal faith journey so I can not offer an opinion on his source for his survival process. Truth, though, has only One source regardless how we think we arrive at it. He does quote the Dalia Lama but that does not necessarily point us to where Mr. White’s ultimate faith lies.
There is other interesting information about starting organizations, thoughts on government involvement in crisis relief and what happen when one wins the Nobel Prize.
1. I was really disturbed by this article at Monday Morning Insight… Politics in religion… that is not good. I may really go off on this one day, but for now I’ll just say I don’t like it.
2. I loved this post by Craig Groeschel. This guy gets it and is working to help us all see that those of us who follow Jesus should act like it.
3. Perry gave some great insight on how to handle criticism in this post. I love this because I see what all comes at this guy and how he processes it… I love following a guy who sets a great example.
4. I loved this post on Seth Godin’s blog because I don’t understand it. Can someone help me with this riddle?
5. Pictures like this keep me in awe of how huge God is.
6. I thought Ken (avclub.us) did a great job on this opener for our new series.
